Raymond.вЂќ With most of the album being boring filler, Usher really should have spent more time picking better material. He is perfectly capable of producing good music, but he completely missed the mark with вЂњRaymond vs. WeвЂ™ve all heard it with the massively successful and acclaimed вЂњConfessionsвЂќ album. Releasing a boring song is bad enough, but releasing this horrible one is far worse. Aside from the unoriginality of the beat, UsherвЂ™s voice just sounds strange. The beat is highly synthesized and sounds exactly like the new Black Eyed Peas sound, which makes sense given the fact that itвЂ™s produced by the Black Eyed PeaвЂ™s will.i.am. вЂњOMG,вЂќ UsherвЂ™s next international single, is probably the worst of the bunch. While most of the rest of the album does nothing to differentiate itself, a couple songs do stand out in their awfulness. The fact that it features the hottest female rapper of the moment, Nicki Minaj, is just icing on the guilty pleasure cake. It is the perfect song to dance to in a club, and itвЂ™s hard to ignore. Even so, the beat-by Polow da Don-is crazy with its bass and synthetic claps. ItвЂ™s true that there isnвЂ™t anything particularly standout about the songвЂ™s lyrics or subject matter itвЂ™s a pretty shallow song in fact. What he canвЂ™t do on вЂњPapersвЂќ and вЂњOkay,вЂќ he knocks out of the park on this one.Д«y far my favorite song though, вЂњLilвЂ™ Freak,вЂќ seems like pretty standard club fare. Over a synth-piano and spare percussion, Usher belts his love for his вЂњbaby.вЂќ His voice expresses his range on this one, and his emotion breaks through. On the slow jam side of things, вЂњThere Goes My BabyвЂќ definitely shines. While the lyrics come off as a little creepy (вЂњYou know your daddyвЂ™s home/ItвЂ™s time to playвЂќ), the song has a good vibe that is easy to rock to. UsherвЂ™s voice is good on this song, and the beat by The Runners is hard to ignore. Official вЂњfirst singleвЂќ вЂњHey Daddy (DaddyвЂ™s Home)вЂќ doesnвЂ™t necessarily shine, but is good overall. Mixed in with these nothing-special, ignore-them songs are a few good ones. Songs like вЂњOkay,вЂќ вЂњMonstarвЂќ and вЂњSo Many GirlsвЂќ fill up the album, but donвЂ™t offer anything special. There are some good songs and some bad ones, but most of them are just there. Usher is not living up to his name or previous success with this album. The remaining singles have thus far failed to even break into the top 30 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its original first single, вЂњPapers,вЂќ was re-coined a вЂњbuzz singleвЂќ to cover up for its modest success-a smart choice given the bore that it is. RaymondвЂќ has seen many delays and disappointments since it was announced. At this point, that seems highly unlikely. Raymond,вЂќ in the hopes that he can regain his former title of R&B king. Now Usher has returned with his new album, вЂњRaymond vs. Raymond era, he will triumph! All the best Usher and u are still the ultimate entertainer.What happened to Usher? In 2004, the R&B singer released his hugely successful album вЂњConfessions,вЂќ which spawned four number-one singles-вЂњYeah,вЂќ вЂњBurn,вЂќ вЂњConfessions Part IIвЂќ and вЂњMy Boo.вЂќ Then, he tried to make a comeback in 2008 with вЂњHere I Stand,вЂќ which managed to feature one number-one hit, вЂњLove in this Club.вЂќ Usher is one of the kings of Rnb and prince of Pop music and nobody will ever outshine him. He will definitely comeback and his talent will never be forgotten. Usher is unstoppable on Mtv charts, Bet, VH1, rnb/ hip hop stations but the real challenge for his comeback would be if he can cater back into the mainstream audience. From the strong airplay of older smash hits from my way, 8701, confessions and even his recent hit litc I really think eventually public will start supporting this man once again. Public is questioning whether they should keep supporting Usher or whether his music is yesterdayвЂ™s news. Sure at this moment he is not going to have daddyвЂ™s home skyrocket to the top of any billboard chart, but that doesnвЂ™t mean his career is over. I really think people want a super duper dance heavy club banger from him as the lead single to make this album a major hit.

But deep down this is a critical point in his career. I donвЂ™t think he lost fans, they may have lost some interest.
